David Earl Fouks, age 57 of Somerset, formerly of New Richmond, passed away November 18, 2019 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. David was born on January 8, 1962 in New Richmond, WI; the son of Gordon and Doris (Behling) Fouks. He was raised in New Richmond where he graduated from New Richmond High School. For many years, he worked as a mechanic for Buerkle Honda in Maplewood, MN. Being raised in a farming family, he enjoyed running the equipment and tractors whenever he had the chance. As he grew older, his love of engines and machines would morph into driving mud trucks in the bogs, snowmobiling, hunting, and watching car races. The quieter David enjoyed time spent with family and his fiancée Deb, watching movies, and hanging out with his dogs Koko and Bear.

David is survived by: his siblings Cheryl (Ken) Warnken of Roberts, Gary (Nancy) Fouks of Hudson, Janice Schurtz of Cannon Falls, MN; nieces/nephews Nicholas, Cassi, Tyler (Megan) and Jennifer; great nieces Aggie and Vivi; and special friend Karen Potthast. His parents, daughter Jessica, nieces Kaila and Laurie, and his fiancée Deb Potthast, precede him in death.

A Gathering of family and friends for David will be on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4pm to 6pm with a prayer service at 5:30 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Interment will be private. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to be used in David’s memory. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes.
