David Howard Beaver

David Howard Beaver, 56 formerly of Winter, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2024 surrounded by family after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

David was born the 3rd child to Alan and Eleanor Beaver in Hutchinson, MN on July 31st,1967. At 3 years of age, his parents built a home in Oakdale, MN where he would live until he moved out as a young adult.

David had several jobs over the years, but his final job was maintenance at Washington County in Oak Park Heights, MN.  He worked many years there before retiring in 2015.

David enjoyed the outdoors, especially ATV/UTVing and boating.  He loved nature and enjoyed time with family and friends around the campfire singing songs and telling stories.

David also fell in love with Europe and he especially enjoyed a town called Hopfgarten in Austria.  It would be a place he talked about endearingly for many years after visiting. One of his greatest claims to fame was his role as a girl dog dad. He had 4 girls that he loved so very much and they enjoyed quite a charmed life with him as their papa.

David will be dearly missed by so many.

He is survived by his sister Pamela (Patrick) Retterath, his brother Scott (Julie Carberry) Beaver, and Gina Beaver his former wife and great friend.

He is also survived by his niece Alexandra “Lexi “Beaver, nephew Matthew Retterath, niece Arrianna Retterath, his aunt Gail Beaver and two very important girls in his life, his dogs Gracie Lou and Mandy Johnson.

He is also survived by many relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, both set of grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11 ^th Street, Hudson, Wisconsin 54016.  Service will start at 3:30 p.m.

Family and friends are then invited to gather at the Willow River Inn for a continued celebration of David’s life and legacy.
