He also owned Peabody’s Pub and Roberts Café for a short time before returning to machine work. He was married to Janice Haberman on June 30th 1962, this union was blessed with 2 daughters.

David loved to be outdoors and watch the changing of the seasons. He partook in almost every outdoor activity you could think of, including camping, canoeing, hiking, and both downhill and cross country skiing. The family loved visiting state and national parks, including Yellowstone, Glacier as well as many around Wisconsin.  Many memories were made around bon fires on the campground. His greatest passion was sailing.  He took the greatest pleasure sailing the St. Croix River and Bayfield on Lake Superior. He created many friends in his vintage car club as he owned a 1952 Chevy fastback. Most recently, he enjoyed WWII history and their planes.
