Dawn Lomnes

Dawn Faith Lomnes, age 76, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 12, 2010 at Comforts of Home in Hudson. She was born the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Anderson) Ziegler on December 19, 1933 in Star Prairie, WI. Dawn graduated from Amery High School and went on to earn a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse at United Hospital in St. Paul, retiring in 1998. On May 14, 1954 Dawn was united in marriage to Thomas Lomnes in Hudson. They were blessed with five children. Dawn enjoyed gardening, making crafts, volunteering with three churches to make blankets & hats for cancer patients and the homeless, and she loved being a grandma & great-grandma! She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tom. Dawn will remain in the hearts of her children: Pamela (Mark) Schneider of Vadnais Heights MN, Sandra Lomnes of Hudson WI, Roxane (Dan) O’Keefe of Switzerland, Tim (Michelle) Lomnes of Somerset, and Deborah (Nigel) Jenks of Neilsville WI; nine grandchildren & one great-grandchild; brother, Donald (Alice) Ziegler of Star Prairie WI; three sisters: Gloria (Leonard) Feyen of Star Prairie WI, Goldie Johnson of Inver Grove Heights MN, and Vivian Hildebrandt of Wanderoos WI; sister-in-law, Janet Ziegler of Clear Lake WI; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation on Monday, July 19th from 2:00 until 7:00 PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI, 715-386-3725. A Memorial Service will be held for Dawn at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 20th at St. Croix Valley United Methodist Church, 16600 7th St. S., Lakeland, MN with urnbearers being Duane Luhman, Ray Smith & Donovan Arneson.
