Deberah ”Debbie”” Ann Gerber, age 60 of Baldwin, passed away January 6, 2016 at her residence. Debbie was born July 27, 1955 in Baldwin, the daughter of Raymond and Lorraine (Hillman) Bonte. She attended Glenwood City High School. Debbie was united in marriage on June 12, 1993 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hammond to the love of her life, Kevin Mark Gerber. Debbie was a hard worker, and enjoyed her time working as a welder for 13 years at Donaldson’s in Baldwin.
Most important to Debbie was her family. She provided unconditional love to her children Jody, Adam and Josh. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and filled her days with much happiness. She treasured her summers with her family camping in Trego, and the peacefulness of being on the lake fishing. She was adventurous and outgoing, and loved her time on motorcycle rides. Debbie adored Elvis Presley and the music he performed and loved to dance. She had a special place in her heart for her min-pins, Riley and Bella.
Debbie will remain in the hearts of her loving husband, Kevin; daughter, Jody (Matt) Hetrick; sons, Adam Standaert and Josh (Samantha) Standaert; grandchildren: Casey and Jake Wittmer, Joseph, Kaiden and Carson Standaert; sisters, Sandra (Cutty) Barriault, Marjorie (Butch) Keeley, and Sharon (Dave) Forrest; brother, Roger (Janice) Bonte; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Gathering will take place 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, with a 2:00 PM Prayer Service, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin. Private interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Emerald on Sunday January 17.
