Deborah Jean Potthast, age 54, passed away peacefully after a short illness on July 19, 2018, Deborah was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on February 20, 1964 to William and Karen Potthast. She attended Stillwater schools and graduated from Stillwater High School with the Class of 1982. She also attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Deborah, or “Deb” as she preferred, worked as an Assistant to various Agents of State Farm Insurance for over 20 years and loved working with policyholders and people in general. She also was very involved in animal rescue and worked with many rescue groups in Wisconsin and Minnesota, making many friends throughout.

She loved to travel and went to various parts of the United States, Mexico and Canada. She also loved to read, knit, sew and various other hobbies. She was also a very avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Deb was such a beautiful, intelligent, and happy person who loved her family and friends, and lived life to the fullest. She also had a very sharp wit as many of you know. She would be known to ask “Is it five o’clock yet?” Everyone enjoyed her great personality and wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and so many friends she made throughout her life.

She is survived by her mother, Karen Beck Potthast; her brother, David Potthast; fiancé David Fouks; nephews Wesley and Preston Potthast; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was visited and assisted often while so ill by special cousins, Kristen Bradford and Lori McMahon, and aunts, Roxanne Olson and Eileen Coughlen. She is further survived by her dogs, Bear, and KoKo; and her cat, Bell. She was preceded in death by her father, William Potthast.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 2:00-5:00pm on September 22, 2018, with a Memorial Service at 5:00 pm, at the O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 South 11th Street, in HUDSON, Wisconsin. A time for memories and sharing will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
