DeEtte “Dee” Marie Johnson, age 79 and lifelong resident of Hudson, died peacefully on March 14, 2018.

DeEtte was born on December 27, 1938 in Hudson, WI to Bernard “Barney” and Marie (Riley) Johnson. She attended St. Patrick Catholic School and graduated with the class of 1957 from Hudson High School. DeEtte spent time as a cosmetology operator for many years and later in life delivered flowers with her life partner Gene for Rose Floral in Stillwater, MN. Aside from working, she enjoyed garage sales, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, spending time at the Mallalieu Inn in North Hudson, WI, and the serenity of feeding local wildlife.

DeEtte will remain in the hearts of her sisters, Karen (Thor) Aune, Marilyn (Dan) Kay, and Cathy (Howard) Witham; godchildren, Kim (Jamie Smith) Kay, David Johnson, Loren (Tracy) Dusek, and Kevin (Trisha) Witham; sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnson; niece and nephews, Donalee (John) Meyer, Greg (Karen) Kay, Brad (Amy) Witham, Bob (Jackie) Aune, and Chris Aune. She is preceded in death by her life patrner, Maylon “Gene” Hartfiel; parents, Bernard and Marie Johnson; brother, Donald Johnson; niece, Debbie Johnson.

Mass of Christian Burial for DeEtte will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson. Memorials Preferred. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson
