Delores Lee Hansen

Delores Lee Hansen, age 74, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, passed away October 17, 2023, at the Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

Delores was born on July 31, 1949, to parent’s LeRoy and Pearl Hilmanowske in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

Delores was united in marriage with the love of her life, Allen Hansen on October 27, 1973, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodville, Wisconsin.  Together they raised one son.  Delores was a dedicated housewife and mother who was excited to celebrate her 50 ^th Wedding Anniversary with Allen at the end of the month.

Delores was a flamboyant soul who loved laughing and making others smile or laugh alongside her.  She enjoyed dressing up and adding her own ‘bling’ to her finest styles.  Those who knew her best enjoyed her cooking and baking all year round; always looking forward to her holiday treats including rosettes, krumkake, and peanut butter balls.  With Delores’ vegetable garden, she was a master canner who would share her produce and became known as the sweet corn lady.  Delores enjoyed the casinos; her favorite spots were Treasure Island, Turtle Lake and she absolutely loved going to Laughlin, Nevada.  Going to the MN State Fair was another one of Delores’ favorite places.  No matter where she traveled, Delores was a self-proclaimed french fry critic.  She knew the best spots around and would always offer her opinion.  Delores took pride in her work with horses and braiding their manes.  She would often be asked to help others with braiding.   Delores also enjoyed fishing anywhere she could, but as a child would often visit Pike Lake and Bone Lake.

Delores is survived by her loving husband Allen; son Nickolas Hansen; siblings Diane Triebold, Richard (Ann) Hilmanowske, Ruth Anderson; sister-in-law’s Anita (Bryan) Drangle, Dawn Hansen, David (Donna) Hansen, Willard Hansen, Eva Hansen; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Pearl Hilmanowske; brother-in-law’s Leonard Triebold and Nolan Anderson.

An interment for Delores will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Baldwin Cemetery, US Hwy 63 South, Baldwin, WI 54002.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Parkside Restaurant & Bar, 555 Davis St. Hammond, Wisconsin 54015.
