Dianne Joseph

Dianne Ellen Joseph, age 70, of North Hudson, passed away in the early morning hours of December 29, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She was born the daughter of Gerald R. and Kathleen M. (Cunningham) Wallace on December 2, 1940 in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1958. In 1959, Dianne was the first princess of the St. Paul Winter Carnival.

She was wed to Gerald Clay in 1960. They had three children: Jeffrey, Susan, and Karen. In 1966, Dianne married Bruce Hawthorne with whom she had children, Lisa, Kevin, and David. In 1982, she entered her third marriage with Don Joseph.

For many years, Dianne was a hostess and bartender at JR Ranch. She was an avid football fan, especially of the Packers, and enjoyed flowers and gardening. But above all, Dianne loved her family; her children and grandchildren made up her world.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin Michael Hawthorne; father, Gerald Wallace; sister, Kathleen Kidd and brother-in-law, Eugene Kidd. Dianne will remain in the hearts of her five children: Jeffrey (Melanie) Clay of St. Joseph MI, Susan Manning of North Hudson WI, Karen Yde (Tom Rohan) of New London WI, Lisa Valentine (Luke Oeltjen) of Somerset WI, and David Hawthorne (Nancy Gorman) of Dallas TX; four grandchildren: Adam Valentine, Rebecca Yde, Daniel Yde, and Megan Clay; mother, Kathleen Wallace of Hudson WI; brother, Michael (Janet) Wallace of New Richmond WI; nephew, Eric Kidd and his daughter, Payton of Sacramento CA and niece, Erin Wallace (Bret Walejko) of Eau Claire WI.

Her visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 (to get you home before the Packer game!) on Sunday, January 2nd at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Interment will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery of Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
