Dianne Lynn Meixner, age 61 of Hudson, WI, passed away March 4, 2013 at the Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Dianne was born August 12, 1951; the daughter of Richard and Marlis (Freeman) Meixner. Dianne graduated from Owatonna High School, class of 1969. She went on to further her education at Iowa State University and the University of Minnesota from which she graduated with distinction in art education and psychology. She received her masters degree in Art Therapy from Norwich University in Montpelier, Vermont. Dianne worked as a psychotherapist within the Fairview University Hospital systems. Dianne’s work and life were centered around her love of art with a passion for dancing, painting, and photography. Dianne traveled to many parts of the world to share the gift of her creation — the Deecha Dolls. Team Ghana was also an integral part of Dianne’s life.
Dianne is survived by her parents, Richard and Marlis of Owatonna; siblings: Sharon (John) McDonald of Des Moines, IA; Sandra Carter of Atlanta, GA; and Jim (Maria) Meixner of Indianapolis, IN; nephews and niece, Brandon, Cory and Morgan.
A Celebration of Dianne’s Life will take place 3:00 – 5:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, during which time everyone will be encouraged to share a memory, story or tribute to Dianne. Memorial Services will also take place 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1054 Truman Ave., Owatonna, MN.
