Dolores Boumeester

Dolores Ellen Boumeester, age 81 of Hudson, formerly of Amery, died peacefully Monday, July 18, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul surrounded by her family. Dolores was born September 30, 1934 in Woodville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Olson) Lee. On February 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald C. Boumeester at the Lutheran Church in Baldwin. This union would be further blessed with four children; Jeff, Susie, Scott, Julie. She worked several years for the Hudson School district in the kitchen, helping bake and prepare the food.

Dolores was a spunky, fun loving woman who loved being around others. She enjoyed her lunches with the lady’s in the Red Hat Society. She also took great pleasure in volunteering for the Amery Hospital and transporting handicapped kids. She and Don were always up for a game of cards or to try their luck at the casino. Furthermore, she enjoyed golfing with her friends with the women’s league. On the other hand, she also appreciated a quiet day at home baking or working on puzzles.

Dolores will remain in the hearts of her husband, Don; children, Jeff of Minnetonka, Susie (Russ) Clizbe of Missoula, and Scott (Gayle) of Hudson; son-in-law, Glen Nelson of Roberts; grandchildren: Jason Boumeester, Jessica (Matt) Arnold, Abby (Paul) Oehmcke, Kaiti (Jesse) Rathbum, Kayla Boumeester, Brandi Boumeester, Trevor Nelson, and Collin Nelson; great grandchildren: Lauren & Kate Arnold, Suraya & Jeffrey Rathbun, and Riplee Oehmcke; sister, Marilyn (Bob) Rucks; and brother, Russ (Arlene) Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mildred Lee, brother, Arthur Jr. “Sonny” Lee; daughter, Julie Nelson; and daughter-in-law, Deb Boumeester.

A Memorial service for Dolores will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 25th at Bethel Lutheran, Downtown Campus, 920 Third Street in Hudson. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 24th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 5:30 PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th Street in Hudson, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at church. Interment will be private. Memorials are preferred.
