Dolores Rickford

Dolores passed away while visiting out in Maine. She died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Calais Regional Hospital. Dolores was born in Cooperstown, ND on March 13, 1928. Daughter of the late Iver and Thelma (Johnson) Dahl. After graduating high school she attended college and worked as a teacher for K-8 grade. When she married Francis Rickford, she left the school to raise her family and help on the family dairy farm. After retiring, Dolores worked local jobs including at the local deli and decorating cakes. Dolores was active and enjoyed doing church work. Dolores loved helping people by being a member of the Extension Homemakers of St. Croix County. She enjoyed baking, crafts, crocheting and reading. She always enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Francis and a grandson, Brian McDonald. She is survived by her three children, Francine McDonald of ME, Thora Fae Schulte (Wayne) of WI, Jeffrey Rickford (Brenda) of WI, seven grandchildren, Amy Holmes (Floyd Jr.) of ME, Daniel McDonald of ME, Clayton McDonald and his fiancé, Jessica Drake or ME, April Alton (Gary) of WI, Jessica Heilman of OH, Chelsea Heilman of WI and Alan Rickford of WI. She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren, Andrea and Avery Holmes, Sophia and Luke McDonald, Natalie McDonald and Aidan and Alexander Alton, a brother, David Dahl (Doris) of MN, and two sisters, Vilma Sanders and Myrna Leininger (Larry), both of ND.

A memorial celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 21 at 11 o’clock at Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts, WI. Pastor Dean Simpson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Warren Cemetery in Roberts. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
