Donald Benoy

Donald Wayne “Donny” Benoy, age 53, of Hudson, passed away November 15, 2016 from complications of leukemia, surrounded by his loving family at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. Donny was born March 15, 1963 in Hudson, WI, the son of Wayne and Helen (Jewell) Benoy. Donny graduated from Hudson High School, the class of 1981. He was united in marriage on June 5, 1987 in Hudson to Mary Jean Zajac. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Daniel, Alex, and Morgan. Donny enjoyed both the work he did as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician, and the comradery he had with his coworkers at Burnsville Heating.

Donny was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger football fan, and delighted in cheering on his teams. He appreciated the outdoors, and worked hard to keep his yard in pristine shape. Donny had a special bond with his sons, and enjoyed tinkering and sharing conversations in his garage with them. He had a great sense of humor and was well entertained by listening to the “Cool Kids” song with his daughter, Morgan. They also shared a love of animals and admiration of their family pets. Donny was fond of eating out with his family, with his favorite choice being Red Lobster. Donny was a wonderful husband and father, who always offered unconditional love and support.

Donny will remain in the heart of his best friend and wife, Mary; sons, Daniel and Alex; daughter, Morgan; sister, Becky (Randy) Retherford of Roberts; as well as many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Helen Benoy; grandparents, Ken and Alice Benoy; and grandmother, Theresa Jewell.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. Memorials are preferred to Donny’s family.
