Donald Dwayne Johnson, age 78 of Hudson, WI, formerly of Prescott, WI and Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 21, 2014 at his residence. Donald ”Don”” was born May 13, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Harold and Lillian (Moline) Johnson. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, the Class of 1954. He went on to further his education at the University of Minnesota, earning a degree in Business. While in school, Don enjoyed the camaraderie with Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. Donald was united in marriage on May 15, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Joliet, IL to Carolyn ””Carrie”” Ruth Juricic. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Keith, Sara, and Mark. Don worked as a National Sales Manager for Ecowater in Woodbury for 25 years, retiring in 1998. After his retirement, Don and Carrie moved to live on Lake Pokegama in Minong, Wisconsin.

Outside of work, Don enjoyed being on the water, walleye fishing and boating on the St. Croix River. He served a term as president of the St. Croix Yacht Club. He and his wife, Carrie, were fortunate to share many travels together and with their family. Some of their favorite destinations they traveled to where Africa, Rainy Lake in Voyager National Park and Lake Tahoe. They also have many fond memories of their 8 years traveling across the states in their RV. Don was charismatic, had a unique sense of humor, and a way with words that could put anyone at ease. His presence was captivating and brought many smiles to those around him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Don will remain in the hearts of his wife of nearly 50 years, Carrie; children: Keith E. Johnson of Roberts, WI, Sara A. (Jeff) Kerner of San Jose, CA and Mark H. (Kim) Johnson of Hudson; grandchildren: Tim, Allie, Kate, Lauren, Julia and Ben; and great grandson, Kameron. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert and his parents.

A Visitation will take place 5 -7 PM Sunday, December 28 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, and one hour prior to Mass Monday at church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM Monday, December 29 at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church, W10137 570th Ave., River Falls, with Fr. Bill Matzek officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The family requests that gifts in memory of Donald D. Johnson be designated to cancer research at Mayo Clinic, Dept of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN. 55905. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
