Donald Elmer Breaker went home to Jesus and his beloved daughter, Cathy Breaker, on September 4, 2024. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Ann (Hansen) Breaker.
Donald was born to Arnold and Alice (Kalt) Breaker June 14, 1932 in Neenah, WI. Don served in the military for 22 months, and then worked in partnership with his Dad and his brother, Richard, on their dairy farm outside of Neenah. Don was a farmer to his last breath, even after leaving the farm for city life. He also worked for Kimberly-Clark for over 40 years in the paper mills at Neenah.
Don was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where he volunteered for mission trips and was active in the men’s group, but his favorite activity was the time spent with the Monday morning money counting group.
Don also looked forward to his breakfast with cousins and friends on Saturday mornings meeting at different breakfast eateries and sharing many laughs and good times. This close circle of family, neighbors and friends were sorely missed when Don and Phyllis moved to Hudson, WI in 2018.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy, parents and brother and sister-in-law Richard and Carol Breaker.
Don was immensely proud of his family and will be very missed by sons Scott (Glenna) Breaker and Steve (Betsy) Breaker, grandchildren Jacob (Kylee) Breaker, Henry (special friend, Donna) Breaker and Alice Breaker and his great-grandsons Kalin and Jameson Breaker. Family meant the world to Don and he had many lifelong friendships that were like family to him.
A memorial service will be held on Fri, Nov. 22, 2024 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a service starting at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be at Clayton Cemetery near Neenah on another date.
In lieu of memorials the family asks that you keep Phyllis and the family in your prayers.
Sending my thoughts and prayers to Phyllis and family; I’m so sorry terribly sad to hear of your families loss. Phyllis–I’m forever grateful for the abundance of life lessons and generosity that you and Don bestowed upon me when you entrusted a wide-eyed kid in 4-H (with little experience but an abundance of determination) to look out for, learn from, and lose my heart to your Cathy’s ‘Sneaker’. The life lessons you cultivated (and my gratitude to you both) are immeasurable.
Hugs, Nicki (Florence) Howard
