Donald Gardner

Donald J. Gardner, 48, Hager City, WI, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 13th at the River Falls Area Hospital. Donald was born on December 15th, 1969 in Baldwin, WI to parents Thomas and Sharon Gardner (nee Boumeester). Donald remained in the Hammond, WI area through high school, graduating from St. Croix Central in 1988. From there he went on to become a skilled mechanic, working on everything from marine to farm equipment through the span of his career.

Donald enjoyed the nature of his work, and would tinker around with all sorts of machines and equipment in his spare time. Through a portion of his life, his big project was a 1969 Chevy Chevelle, which he did all the work on himself. When Donald wasn’t elbow-deep in an engine or some other mechanical contraption, he could be found in the front row of the local demolition derbies, fishing year-round, or in the company of his many boisterous friends and family members.

Donald is survived by his beloved siblings; Dale (Cindy) Gardner, Cheryl (Mitch) Johnston, Mike (Debbie Wahlin) Gardner, and Linda (Kim Kiel) Gardner; his adored nieces and nephews; Luke (Heidi) Gardner, Andrew (Tia) Gardner, Michelle (Michael Lohmann) Lindus, Melinda (Brent) Mueller, and Grace Gardner; as well as other countless relatives and friends. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; Tom and Sharon Gardner.

The family of Donald would like to extend their sincerest gratitude and a special thank you to the Huppert Family of Hager City, WI for ensuring Donald’s comfort and security during his final years.

A Celebration of Life for Donald will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, 1010 Newton St. Private interment Warren Cemetery, Roberts, WI.
