Donald Roy “Jake” Jacobson of Danbury, Wisconsin passed away on November 29, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1944 to Minnie & Irving Jacobson. He and his twin brother, Ron, were born at Madison General in Madison, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann, son Robert (Toni), daughter Cindy (Jason), step daughter Paula, and stepson Todd (Cheryle). Jake had 12 grandchildren – Johnathan, Will, Brett, Reagan, Jasmyn, Jacob, Mychal, Ryan (Todd), Rachel, Justin, Alisha, & Dillon. He had two great granddaughters, McKenzie & Emma. Jake is also survived by his brothers Ron (Nancy), Bill (Lin), Duane (Lois), Dick (Adelle), sister-in-law Cecelia, sister-in-law Betty and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and young brothers Robert “Bobby”, Irving Jr., and Gary.

Jake and his brothers all enjoyed the sport of ski jumping, and the “twins” Don & Ron were known for a time as the tallest ski jumpers in the world.

Jake graduated from Madison West in Madison, WI., and continued his education at the UW Wisconsin Whitewater where he graduated with a teaching degree in physics. Jake taught at Lacrosse Logan for almost 30 years. Even after retiring from teaching, Jake continued to “teach” anyone that wanted to learn – history, science, hunting, fishing; his “legacy” will live on forever.

Jake was a big “teddy bear”, and loved by everyone who knew him. If you enjoyed fishing and hunting, you could be his buddy. He and Carol Ann embarked on many adventures in their 30 years together from hunting in Montana, fly fishing in Wyoming, hiking the mountains in the west, cruising to the Bahamas, pheasant hunting in Iowa, bow hunting in Wisconsin, and of course, bass fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids hunting and fishing. He also loved the time he spent with his adoptive son, Kevin and son-in-law Jason. Everyone that met Jake, knew that he loved to “talk” and “tell stories”… hunting, fishing, politics, didn’t matter… he loved the conversation. Jake also couldn’t resist talking with Pastor Bill after church about hunting and fishing… a great friendship they had.

Jake will be missed by his many friends, his large family and his beloved dog Cloe. He is having a wonderful time now, fishing and hunting in the “big sky”.
