Donald Kelley

Donald J. Kelley, 60, of Luck, WI passed away unexpectedly along with his wife, Robin, due to an automotive accident on Saturday, Oct 27th. Don was born on May 5th, 1958 in St. Paul to parents Ed & Pat Kelley (nee Sisterman). He and his family would later move to Billings, MT where he would eventually graduate from Billings High School. After high school, Don would return to Minnesota to attend what is now known as Century College and then St. Thomas University. Although he didn’t complete his degree at St. Thomas, he & his father went on to open the successful and revered art firm Kelley Gallery Art & Frame, which has locations in both Hudson & Woodbury. Don loved what he did, & never considered it his job so much as his passion.

In 1986, shortly after opening the gallery, Don married Sue Meuwissen (nee Engstrom) in New Brighton, MN. Don & Sue had three children together before their marriage dissolved. Don would go on to remarry Robin Kelley (nee Nowinsky) in Hudson on January 20th, 2017. Though the two of them only spent just short of two years in marriage, they did more together in that time than many could wish to do in a lifetime. Don & Robin loved to travel & saw much of the world together. When the two of them weren’t jet setting, they could often be found spending time together & with their families at the lake house. The two shared a love of music, and could also be spotted at live music events & on the dance floor. Don will forever be remembered for his adventurous spirit & cheerful temperament.

Don will remain in the hearts of his beloved children, Blake, Monica, & Rachel Kelley of Woodbury; his cherished step-children, Riley Penkwitz of St. Paul & Reena Penkwitz of Tacoma, WA; his treasured siblings, Tom (Kimberly) Kelley, Rick (Shawn) Kelley, Jeanie (Gary) Pacolt, Barb (Al) McNamee, & Bobby (Danielle) Kelley; his caring first wife Sue (Dan) Meuwissen; many dear nieces & nephews, as well as close cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Pat Kelley (nee Sisterman).

A Visitation for Don & Robin will be held Thursday, Nov. 1 from 4:00-7:00 PM at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson. A Funeral Mass for Don & Robin will take place on Friday, Nov. 2 at 3:00 PM, preceded by a one-hour visitation at St. Patrick Parish, Hudson. Interment Willow River Cemetery, Hudson.
