Donald Lawrence Roettger

Donald L Roettger passed away on October 28, 2024 after a brave battle with Parkinson’s and dementia. He was surrounded with love and passed peacefully.

Don worked as a letter carrier for the Hudson post office for 28 years, delivering mail to the homes in the downtown Hudson area.

He was a man of many talents. He loved woodworking and was always working on a project. An avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and garden.

He was a kind, gentle, patient man who always took the time to pass on a lesson to his children and grandchildren. He had the best sense of humor, was always joking around and playing tricks on his favorite people.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan, children, Mike (Jenny) and Molly (Joe), grandchildren Stephanie, Hannah, Tori and Owen and great grandson Kolton.

We would like to thank Lakeview Hospice along with many special caregivers that cared for Don.

He will live on in the hearts of his loved ones who will never forget his love, teachings and good humor.

A memorial service for Donald will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th Street Hudson, WI. A visitation will follow from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
