Donald Norman Quam, age 94, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025.
Donald was born on September 28, 1930, in Dennison, Minnesota, to Albert and Eva (Urevig) Quam. He attended District 52, a one-room schoolhouse, through the eighth grade before graduating from Kenyon High School in 1948. He met the love of his life, Lucille Ruth Quam, and they were united in marriage on March 11, 1956, in Zumbrota, Minnesota. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised eight children.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Donald cherished God and his family above all else. He loved reminiscing about the family farm and sharing stories with those who would listen. A lifelong Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan, he found great joy in sports, as well as in bowling and competitive horseshoe games at family gatherings. Donald had a generous heart and never hesitated to help others, expecting nothing in return. His legacy of hard work and determination will live on in the many lives he touched. His unwavering love and support left an enduring impact on all who knew him, creating treasured memories that will be held close forever.
Donald is survived by his loving children: David (Becky) Quam, Patricia (Michael) Burke, Rebecca Phillips, Linda (Steven) Sager, Sarah (Eddie) Beck, Amy (Chad) Stuttgen, and Jennifer (Jeff) Lueck; his grandchildren: Karen (Andy) Ives, Amanda (Doug) Nadeau, Victoria (Ben) Steinhoff, Heather Hanson, Joseph (Laura) Hanson, Brian Hanson, Ashley Sager, Hailey Sager, Chauntel (Jeff) Nelson, Ashley Lomker, Lucy Beck, Jake Beck, Caleb Ontiveros, Sophia Lueck, and Autumn Stuttgen; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Elstad; sisters-in-law Judy Campbell and Miriam Hinrichs; brothers-in-law John (Donna) Hinrichs and Dave Anderson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lucille Quam; his son James D. Quam; son-in-law John Phillips; step-grandchild Michael Burke Jr.; his parents Albert and Eva Quam; his siblings, including his twin sister Doris Flom, Leona Jacobson, and Irene Banks; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and extended family members.
A private family service will be held in the spring at New Richmond Cemetery in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
