A Public graveside service will be 10AM Tuesday July 28th at Forest lawn Cemetery; 1800 Edgerton Street, St. Paul

Donald Oscar Swanson ”Swanny”” age 87 of Hammond, formerly St. Paul died July 22 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. He was raised in St. Paul where he attended school graduating from Johnson High School. He would marry the former Shirley Masloski in 1959. She would precede him in death in 1991. He enlisted in the armed forces where he proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked many years as a mason/brick layer in the Twin Cities. He loved pan fishing on Staples Lake, golfing, and was a great artist who could sketch almost anything. In fact, one of his sketches is in the Pentagon.

He will remain in the hearts of his children Sheila (John), Mike, Terry (Norm), Donna, Karen, Don (Theresa), and Kert, as well as ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, and brothers Roger and Bob.

A Public graveside service will be 10AM Tuesday July 28th at Forest lawn Cemetery; 1800 Edgerton Street, St. Paul. memorials are preferred.
