Donna Hofbauer

Donna Mae Hofbauer, age 80, of Hudson, WI, entered Heaven’s gates on August 26, 2017, peacefully surrounded by her family. Donna Mae Hofbauer was born in Easton, Wisconsin on June 27th, 1937. She was united in marriage to her best friend, John “Jack” Hofbauer on October 27, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Adams, WI.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Donna always put her family first. Spending time with them was her pride and joy. She cherished time with her husband, Jack, traveling about the country. She also enjoyed time in her garden, watching her hummingbirds on her deck, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers during our Sunday gatherings. Donna had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hudson.

Donna will remain in the hearts of her children, Michael (Karla) Hofbauer of Waunakee, WI, Mark (Beth) Hofbauer, of Cottage Grove, WI, Carol Hofbauer (Robert Anderson), Dan (Cherri) Hofbauer, and Eugene (Ryah) Hofbauer, all of Hudson , WI; her grandchildren include: Derek (Jenny) Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Sean (Ashley) Anderson, Alex Anderson, Darren Anderson, Jessica (Michael) Kinzler, Jennifer (Matt) Mikelson, Joseph Hofbauer, Michelle Hofbauer, Meghan Foelker, Jordan (Jeremy) Cavanaugh, Kenzi White, Koltin Hofbauer, Jaylin Hofbauer, Kadin Hofbauer, Nora Hofbauer, and Cullen Hofbauer; great-grandchildren: Austin and Sadie Anderson, Jack and Jordan Kinzler, and Aubrey Mikelson; sister-in-law, Barbara Malin; and brother-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Hofbauer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John “Jack” Hofbauer; parents, Harry (Leona) Reichhoff; parents-in-law, Joseph (Agnes) Hofbauer; siblings include: Harold “Stub” (Harriet) Reichhoff, Avis “Sis” (Ernest) Komatz, Chet (Helen) Reichhoff, Ernest (Jeanette) Reichhoff, Cliff Reichhoff (special friend, Midge), and Sister-in-law, Audrey Hofbauer.

A visitation will take place 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, August 31, 2017 at O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to Mass on Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:30 AM Saturday, September 2nd at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 807 West Lake St., Friendship, WI. Interment will take place at the Easton Cemetery in rural Adams. A luncheon will follow interment.

A special thanks to her daughter, Carol, who graciously allowed Donna to enjoy her final years comfortably at home, and St. Croix Hospice who allowed Donna to be at peace at home during her final days with us. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice – Hudson Team.
