Donna Marie Lamson, age 97 of Roberts, passed away November 26, 2022, at Hammond Health Services. Donna was born on May 21, 1925, in River Falls, Wisconsin to George and Erna (Nelson) O’Connor. She grew up in Roberts and graduated from Roberts High School. Donna was united in marriage to Walter “Swede” Lamson on August 8, 1953, and the couple was blessed with two children, Sharyl and Scott. She took pride in her family and operated a daycare out of her home while raising her children. She volunteered for many years in the pie room for the New England Dinner each fall (known as the “pie lady”) and was a longtime member of Roberts Congregational Church. Donna volunteered as an Election Worker for local elections for many years and in retirement, she served as the manager of the Hammond Nutrition Site in Hammond.
Donna was “dynamite in a small package.” She was not very big, but she was capable of holding her own in any situation, especially if you happened to be playing a game of cards. She made sure family meals, gatherings and holidays were “just so” and enjoyed presenting a visual delight. Her desserts were especially good. Donna loved to dance, enjoyed listening to country music, playing the penny machines, and playing cards with family, friends and card clubs. She stayed current on news and politics by listening to AM radio broadcasts and talk radio in the afternoons. She particularly enjoyed columnist, Joe Soucheray, and quoted him often. Donna enjoyed time spent with loved ones, socializing and having conversations about current events.
Donna will remain in the hearts of her beloved husband, Walter “Swede” Lamson; son, Scott (Jennifer) Lamson; twin grandchildren, Meghan Orgeman and Mike (Hillary) Orgeman; sister, Marianne Franklin; sister-in-law, Rosanna O’Connor; nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharyl Kittilson; her parents, George and Erna O’Connor; and brothers, Lloyd O’Connor, Jerome “Jerry” (Beverly) O’Connor, and George “Dick” (Barbara) O’Connor.
Per Donna’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held. Memorials preferred. Cards for Donna’s family can be mailed to O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin, WI 54002, to be forwarded.

She was like a big sister to me, giving me advice, sharing stories and coffee and treats, and discussing every topic of interest– and there were many, Once I left Roberts to teach in Wausau, I looked forward to visiting with her when I was at my parents house. So many wonderful memories. You have my condolences. She was a great lady.
