Donna M. Christensen

Donna Marie Christensen, age 85 of Hudson died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Donna was born on December 24, 1933, in Hudson, to Howard and Lilah (Rose) Brown. She attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Hudson High School in 1952. On April 11, 1953, Donna was united in marriage to Clyde Christensen at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hudson, and the couple were blessed with three children, Kevin, Kent, and Keri. Donna worked in the dietary department at the Hudson Hospital for several years, and later continued at the hospital as a volunteer.

Donna’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends; and she adored visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her younger days, she was fond of knitting, roller skating, and dancing.. Donna was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) and the Hudson Women’s Club. Recently, she enjoyed playing bingo and meeting with the reading group at Wintergreen.

Donna will remain in the hearts of her children, Kevin (Diane) Christensen of North Hudson, Kent (Bonnie) Christensen of River Falls, Keri (Keith) Kennedy of Hudson; grandchildren, Erin, Ben, Cory, Jena, Caitlin, David Bowen, and Keli Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Payton, Ryder, Jayden, Trey, Braelynn, David Jr., and Koyote Eldon; brother, Howard Brown of Hudson; brother-in-law, Dale Carmichael of Stillwater, MN; many loving nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Mary Johnson and Betty Gratz. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; her parents; sisters, Phyllis Moriarty, Nancy Carmichael, and Sally Bethke; sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown; brothers-in-law Patrick Moriarty, and Bill Bethke; and nephews, Scott Bethke and Dennis Moriarty.

Mass of Christian Burial for Donna Christensen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23rd at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service, on Monday, April 22nd at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson and also one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Dementia Society of America or Autism Now.
