Donna Mae Hanvelt, aged 75, of Ellsworth, passed away peacefully at Noreen Family Home on October 20, 2023. She was the beloved daughter of Donald and Nina Hanvelt and was born on November 30, 1947, in Ellsworth, WI. Donna’s life was marked by a deep love for her family and a passion for creativity and community.

Donna’s early years were spent in Ellsworth, where she attended Ellsworth High School and graduated with the class of 1965. She went on to work at Smead’s Manufacturing, where she served as a custodian for many years.

One of Donna’s greatest joys in life was her creativity. She had a talent for painting wooden crafts and took great pleasure in tending to her beautiful flower beds, which bloomed with daffodils and wildflowers, reflecting her love for nature’s beauty. Donna also had a cherished collection of clowns, which brought her happiness and amusement over the years.

Donna had an extraordinary capacity to express her love and devotion to her family. She was extremely creative and expressed her affection through her artistry, and she held a special place in her heart for her family. She cherished the moments spent at community events, holiday family gatherings, and most of all, the precious time she shared with her nieces and nephews.

Donna Mae Hanvelt will be remembered as a creative soul, a loving family member, and a cherished friend. Her warm smile, creative spirit, and unwavering love will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Donna is survived by her sister, Carla (Mark Broostin) Hanvelt, her brother, Steven (Loretta) Hanvelt, as well as her sisters-in-law, Linda Brathall, Sharon Brathall, and brother-in-law, Brad Harder. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were deeply touched by her love and affection.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Nina (Clark) Hanvelt, brothers, Bill Brathall, Chuck Brathall, and Glen Brathall, sister, Linda (Hanvelt) Harder, sister in laws, Lois Brathall, Diane Brathall, and great nephew Joshua Borst.

A Funeral Service for Donna will be at 2:00pm on Friday, October 27, 2023, at O’Connell Family Funeral Home: 130 N Grant St, Ellsworth, WI 54011. A visitation will start at 1:00pm until the service. The burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.
