A Celebration of Life for Donna Mae Briggs will be 2PM Friday, July 13th at the United Methodist Church in Hudson

Donna Mae Briggs age 69 of Somerset, Wisconsin died unexpectedly on July 5th, 2018. Donna was born on September 22, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the daughter of Donald and Mae (Beyer) Briggs. She was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin where she graduated from high school prior to attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in education and biology. Donna worked in the banking industry for many years as a mortgage lender in the Milwaukee area and the Twin Cities. She would retire at an early age to take care of her mother as her health declined.

Donna cherished volunteering at the Somerset Public Library. She took great pleasure in reading mysteries or legal thrillers. She also enjoyed having a cold Diet Coke while working on a Sudoku or jigsaw puzzle. Her greatest love came from spending time with her sister Barbara and her nieces. Adventures to garage sales or art fairs gave great memories. She also appreciated dancing and attending many plays at the Phipps Center For The Arts in Hudson.

Donna will forever remain in the hearts of her sister Barbara (Ken) Chapman of North Hudson, nieces Kendra Chapman of St. Paul, Minnesota and Jennifer (John Morton) Chapman of Bayport, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Mae.

A Celebration of Life for Donna Mae Briggs will be 2PM Friday, July 13th at the United Methodist Church in Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at United Methodist Friday afternoon. Interment will be private. Memorials are preferred to the Somerset Public Library. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory.
