Donna Mae Kurrelmeyer

Donna Mae Kurrelmeyer, age 90 of Maiden Rock died December 9, 2023 at United Hospital in St. Paul where she was receiving care for the past couple days. Donna Mae was born on June 22, 1933 in Dakota County, MN; the daughter of Sydney and Louise (Klingnor) Kurrelmeyer. The family moved to Wisconsin where she attended Carpenter County School. She helped on the family farmstead where she learned her hard work ethics. Donna Mae’s life was blessed beyond measure when she gave birth to a daughter Duinia Louise. Donna Mae worked nearly forty years for the Smead Manufacturing Company in Hastings. She enjoyed her time spent there and was a dedicated employee as a five-part line operator.

Donna loved her farmstead. She and Duinia farmed the land with the help of others as they also tended to their dairy cattle. She would work at Smeads then come home to perform her chores.  Earlier in life, she enjoyed horseback riding their horse Powie and always had abundant love for her dogs. She also took great care of her vegetable gardens with bountiful harvests.

Donna leaves to mourn her passing; daughter Duinia; siblings Kenny (Alice) Kurrelmeyer, Bufford (Marilyn) Kurrelmeyer, Duword (Eileen) Kurrelmeyer; as a host of nieces and nephews. Her brothers Wallace and Donald precede her in death.

Funeral service for Donna Mae will be 1:00PM Wednesday, December 20th at the Ono United Methodist Church in rural Maiden Rock. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church Wednesday morning. Memorials are preferred to offset Donna’s expenses.
