Donovan Ernest Robey

Donovan Ernest Robey, age 79 of River Falls, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2015 at the River Falls Area Hospital, surrounded by family.

Donovan was born on April 25, 1936 to Ernest and Mildred (Dopkins) Robey. He served his country as a member of the Army National Guard of Wisconsin. On October 24, 1959 he married Marion (Green) Robey and together they raised seven children on their family farm in rural River Falls.

Don was a life time dairy farmer who loved his Guernsey cows. Donovan was an avid outdoors man and was a volunteer for the Pierce County DNR who he raised pheasants for. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cheering at countless sporting events. He was a regular at the Pierce County Fair where he showed his cattle and where he was also a 4-H leader. He was a lifelong fanatic of the Green Bay Packers and also the Milwaukee Brewers. Go Pack Go! Don passed away exactly 9 months after his beloved wife Marion and a day before their 56th wedding anniversary.

Donovan was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marion Robey on January 23, 2015 and brother, Howard Robey.

Donovan is survived by daughters, Kim (Phil) Huggett, Michelle (John) Stoetzel and Stacie Robey; sons, Jeff (Jodie) Robey, Todd Robey, James Darren (Ann) Robey and Ryan (Angie) Robey; grandchildren, Sarah Huggett, Lindsey (Jut) Kocina, Luke Huggett, Samantha Huggett, Jaclyn Stoetzel, Brooke Stoetzel, Matthew Stoetzel, Allyson Stoetzel, Miranda Robey, Jacy Robey, Erin Robey, Amber Robey, Justin Robey, Adam Robey and Abbey Robey; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Derwin (Leslie) Robey; sister, Connie (Dennis) Mausolf; sister in-law, Marie (Jim) Leonard; brother-in-law, Eugene (Arlene) Green and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Booth officiating.

Pallbearers: Phil Huggett, John Stoetzel, Mike Robey, Danny Robey, Thad Mausolf and Tom Robey.

Honorary pallbearers: Donovan’s grandchildren.

A special thank you is sent to the staff at Medical Surgery in River Falls Area Hospital.
