Doris Ann Freitag

Doris Freitag age 90 of Baldwin, WI passed away April 16th 2025 after a long battle with Lewey Body Dementia.
Doris was born October 10th, 1934 in River Falls, WI to Marion and Irma VanDien. She grew up on a farm in Baldwin and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1952.
On May 8th, 1954 Doris was united in marriage to Ralph Freitag in Iowa. They lived and raised their family in a loving home in Baldwin, WI.
Doris worked at many different jobs in the Baldwin area. Her earliest job was candling eggs at Spindler’s and Rosen’s, she also worked at Fabri-Tek and Eggen’s Grocery Store.
Doris was a member of the First Reformed Church all her life. She had a strong faith and read her Bible and devotions before bed every night.
Doris was also a member of the Baldwin Legion Auxiliary and marched in area parades.
Doris loved making floral arrangements and gave many of her beautiful creations as gifts. She also cut coupons, hundreds and hundreds of coupons for her children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and friends and gave them in person in an envelope or even mailed them. She also loved going to garage sales, especially the Baldwin Days sales.
Doris was a great cook, making the best Peanut Butter bars, muffins and Pizza Hot Dish. Family members would usually get a pan of her bars for their Birthday and not share them!
Doris’s kindness and nonjudgmental character was a wonderful example she set for all of us.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard, Gene, sisters Marilyn Bol and Rachel Terkelsen.
She is survived by her husband Ralph of 70 years, daughter Kathy (Gary) Stone of Bloomer, WI, sons; Steve (Sharon) of Baldwin, WI, Jeff (Brenda) of Spring Valley, WI. Four Grandchildren; Karissa Stone, Michael (Stacy) Stone, Lucas (Crystal) Freitag, Jadie Freitag and Great Grandchildren; Zander, Zoe, Gwen, Maddy and Nash. Brothers; Roger (Edee) VanDien and Roy VanDien and
brother in laws John Terkelsen and Edward Freitag and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Comforts of Home in Menomonie, WI and Adoray Home Health and Hospice for their loving and special care of Doris. Angels do walk among us.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Adoray Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral Service 11 AM Thursday, April 24th with visitation 9 AM to 11 AM at First Reformed Church, Baldwin. Interment Baldwin Cemetery.
