She was baptized and confirmed at Rush River Lutheran Church, River Falls. She attended the Fargo School through 8th Grade. She had a wonderful childhood as she enjoyed helping with the farm chores and playing softball with classmates at her school. Her dad brought home many musical instruments and told Doris to learn to play them…and she did!!! At age 19, she married Glenn Borgen of Martell and together they had 3 children. Glenn passed away in 1978; and Doris later married Victor Lindquist of New Richmond.

Doris loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren with all her heart. She loved all her family and friends, flowers, trees, birds, dancing, music, the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, her beloved Wurlitzer organ, and life itself. She loved to dance. Even at ages 81-85, Doris drove herself and a friend to the senior dances in Clayton, WI every Thursday afternoon come rain, snow, sleet and/or fog!! Her motto: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” She loved to play pranks on people and laughed so hard when anyone screamed when they saw her “rattlesnake eggs.” Doris and daughter, Barb, went on many automobile and airplane trips together and shared a special friendship.
