Doris Agnes Langer (Marek), age 88 of River Falls, WI died on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Our House Senior Living in River Falls, WI. Doris was the last of five children born to Frank and Agnes (Dusek) Marek on November 1st, 1936. Doris was raised in Big River on her parent’s dairy farm. She attended St Mary’s Big River Catholic School and graduated from Prescott High School. After graduating high school she worked at the Window Shutter Factory in Prescott, WI where she met her husband of 63 years, Donald Langer.

Doris was united in marriage to her best friend, Donald Henry Langer on June 2, 1956 at St Mary’s Big River Catholic Church in River Falls. To this union, three children were born. Deborah, Daniel and Darwin. Doris along with Donald farmed on her family’s farm until 1974 when they moved into town and built a house on Sunset Lane. Once living there, Doris became a homemaker and found herself in the garden for hours along with spending her time baking and cooking items her family would come to treasure. It is no secret that Doris was an avid baker. She was given the gift of cooking and baking from her mother and grew to love doing so with her sister. She loved baking her Czech favorite; Kolache’s. She enjoyed having friends and family over for occasions, hosting New Years and of course feeding loved ones with all of her favorite dishes.

She will be remembered most by those that love her for her love of family, friends, flowers and her garden, making her jam and canning. She loved going on bus trips, playing cards at the senior center, helping out in the nursey at St. Bridget’s and going to her grandchildren’s events and babysitting for countless friends, family, grandkids and great grandkids.

Doris is survived by her children, Deborah Odahlen, Daniel Langer, Darwin Langer (Michelle), five grandchildren, Ryan McNamara, Benjamin McNamara (Becca), Sarah Erler (Grant), Chad Odahlen, Crystal Simmons (Steffan), nine great-grandchildren, Sean ,Xander, Preston, Thomas, Laryssa, Olivia, Reid, Ethan and Ruby. She is also survived by her sister in laws, Rosie (Dick) Brookshaw, Gerri Langer, Judy Hermann (Don) and countless nieces and nephews and extended family members that she loved dearly. Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald, her parents, Frank and Agnes, her brothers Matthias, Sylvester and Jerome and her loving sister Marian and many other family members who she is now reunited with in the gates of heaven.

Mass of Christian Burial for Doris Agnes Langer will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior to the mass at 10:00 am. at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E Division Street in River Falls, with Father Balaraju Policetty officiating. Doris’s final place of rest will be at the St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery. Memorials honoring Doris Langer may be directed to St. Bridget’s Catholic Church which meant so very much to her. Her memory will remain a cherished blessing to all who carry her love forward.
