Doris Mae Ptacek, age 101, of River Falls, WI formerly of Prescott, WI passed away October 17, 2014 at Comforts of Home in River Falls, WI. She was born on February 28, 1913 to Eugene and Lillian (Sorenson) Schickling in Minneapolis, MN. Doris graduated from Prescott High School and completed business school becoming a bookkeeper. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jacques Seed Company for many years. On October 23, 1937 she was united in marriage to Paul C. “Cal” Ptacek.She is preceded in death by her husband, Cal; sister, Marian Wikkerink; brother, Robert Schickling.Doris is survived by her children, Janet Johnson (Robert) of River Falls, WI, Warren Ptacek (Lorraine “Sue”) of Fort Collins, CO; four grandchildren, Sara Schliep (Bruce) of Rochester, MN, Jeffrey Johnson (Robin) of Golden, CO, Christopher Ptacek of Minneapolis, MN, Jonathan Ptacek (Kellie) of Fort Collins, CO; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Emma; three step-great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jill and Peter; two step-great-great-grandchildren, August and Juliet; sister, Florence Schickling of Eagan, MN; brother, Warren Schickling of LaMirada, CA; several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Prescott United Church of Christ, Prescott, WI.Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Prescott, WI is assisting the family.
