Dorothy Marie Jones (nee: Oswald), age 98, of Roberts, WI, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 18, 2013 at her residence.

Dorothy was born on June 16, 1914 in Corcoran, MN, the daughter of William and Emma (Deisting) Oswald. Dorothy attended St. Johns School, and obtained a degree from the University of Minnesota’s farming school. On November 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Newel Jones at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Osseo, MN. Their marriage would be blessed two sons, Harvey and Daryl.

Dorothy was devoted wife for 66 years, and was a loving mother to her two sons. She was an active member of the Homemakers Club, and the church. She participated in the church choir, was active in church events, and taught Sunday school.

She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, especially her roses. She loved cooking and baking, and was known for her bread and pies.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Harvey (Stephanie) Jones of Hastings, MN, and Daryl Jones of Hudson, WI; grandchildren: Matthew (Beth) Jones, Kathryn (Tony) Seleski, and Mark (Kari) Jones, Morgan, MacKenzie, and Michael Jones; step-grandchildren, Patrick (Katie) Swanson, Peter (Lori) Swanson, and Paul Swanson; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Klemp; sister-in-law, Donna Oswald; brother-in-law, Eldon Tessman; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Newel; and siblings, Clarence Oswald, Bernice Williams, Mildred Zumwalt, and June Tessman.

Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 at Roberts United Church of Christ, 1001 Birch Dr., Roberts, with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service at the church. Interment will take place at the Warren Cemetery in Roberts. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be: Matthew, Mark, & Michael Jones, Tony Seleski, and Patrick, Peter, & Paul Swanson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kathryn Seleski, Morgan Jones, and MacKenzie Jones. Memorials are preferred to the Roberts United Church of Christ.
