Douglas L. Boles Jr.

Douglas LeMar Boles Jr., age 72 of Hudson, passed away from natural causes on March 19, 2016 at his home. Douglas was born November 6, 1943 in River Falls, WI, the son of Douglas LeMar Sr. and Shirley (Mueller) Boles. He graduated from Cornell High School, the Class of 1961. He furthered his education at Red Wing, Southeast Technical College in computer programming. Doug was united in marriage to Yvonne Carol Boles on April 23, 1966 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Afton. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Douglas III, Kelli and Robert. Doug worked in accounting for F & D Supply and Treasure Island Casino for many years.

Doug’s greatest accomplishment was his family. Although Doug had a tough exterior, he was a loving and understanding husband and father. He cherished his time with his grandchildren, sharing in laughs and creating many special memories. He was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan, who loved cheering on his team. Doug also enjoyed reading and golfing. His big heart led him to be very involved with the special olympics over the years.

Doug will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 49 years, Yvonne “Vonnie;” children, Douglas III (Celeste Rose Kennedy-Boles) of Roberts, Kelli (David) Schmidt of Hudson, and Robert Boles of Hudson; grandchildren: Chad (Janine) Marty, Cassenna (Kyle) Price, Haley Boles, Destiny Boles, Grace Schmidt and Harmony Boles; great grandchildren, Collin Pinnt and Carter Price; sister, Deborah Boles; sisters-in-law, Carol Boles and Cheryl (John) Schmidt; many cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alice and Robert Heuer; and brother David.

A Celebration of Doug’s Life will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 880 Neal Ave.. S., Afton. A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at church on Wednesday. Doug’s grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Honorary urn bearers will be Mitch Siefert and Shea Nyhus. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
