Dulon, Mary Jean

Mary Jean Dulon, age 90 of Hudson passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN. She was born August 27, 1929 in Stillwater, to Peter and Alice (Ruemmele) Schafer. Mary Jean attended Stillwater High School. On June 14th, 1950, Mary Jean was married to Harold Dulon at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bayport MN. Their 59 year union was blessed with six children.

Mary Jean was an avid deer and bear hunter, having received the Iron Clad award from the Wisconsin Bear Hunting Association. She enjoyed time in Door County, fishing for salmon or in Deer Lake at their cabin. Mary Jean also had a love of gardening. Prior to Harold’s passing they would spend a lot of time with their close friends, “The Golden Group.” Mary Jean was the leader of the Rolling Hills 4H Club for over 25 years. She also was a member of the McKinley Home Makers for many years.

Mary Jean is survived by her daughter Jeanne Dulon, her sons David, Joseph (D’Ann), Tom (Mary), Bob (Deb), and John (Brenda); fifteen grandchildren, Danielle, Michelle (Jason), Jason (Alisha), Scott, Jessica (Jerry), Chris (Julie), Michael, Brian (Bridget), Brad (Tiandra), Greg (Sara), Peter (Kalyn), Bill, Lane (Mitchell), Cassandra, and Mitchell; as well as twenty-five great grandchildren; brother Bill (Zona) Schafer, sister Betty Anderson, sister-in-laws Dorothy Dulon, and Lucile Dulon. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents, Pete and Alice Schafer, brothers-in-law Alfred Dulon, Jarold Dulon, Lavern Anderson, and sisters-in-law Bernadette (Andy) Polichick and Irene Flandrick, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Dulon.

A private Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jean Dulon will be held at Noon, Thursday, May 21st at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. John Gerritts officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Hudson. Services will be immediate family only, extended family and friends may connect through St. Patrick Church’s Facebook Live. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
