Edan Laidlaw

Edan Richard Laidlaw, age 14 of River Falls, WI, beloved son of Richard and Stephanie (Rutty) Laidlaw, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at his home. Edan was born January 31, 2005 in River Falls, and was baptized at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. He was currently a freshman at River Falls High School.

Edan was active, musical, and athletic, and always had a smile on his face. He took piano lessons throughout grade school, and played the saxophone in the middle school band. Edan enjoyed hockey and soccer for many years in his youth, as well as basketball, and was a member of the Wildcat JV soccer team. He also enjoyed snowboarding and snowmobiling. Like other teenagers, Edan liked to play video games, be on his phone, and listen to music. He was a loyal and caring friend to others. Edan was happiest when he was with his friends, filling the room with smiles and laughter. Edan admired his brother and sister, looked up to them, and truly loved his time with them. He always looked forward to family vacations, holidays, and his birthday. Edan traveled to many destinations in this world with his family, and was so proud to earn his SCUBA certification last Christmas while in Roatán, Honduras. Those family memories were treasured by Edan. He had plans and goals for a bright future, and a family that loved him. In this tremendous sadness, all mourn the loss of Edan, and all that his future held for him.
