Eddie Don Salas, “Sir Eddie”, passed away on November 10, 2017 at his residence. Eddie was born on June 10, 1979 to Eddie R. and Donnora (Bylander) Salas in Lubbock, Texas. He spent his elementary years at North Plains Elementary School at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. Eddie went to high school at Trinity Christian in Lubbock, Texas and Levelland High School in Texas. After high school, he attended West Palm Beach – Atlantic College in Florida. Eddie worked as an Optician for Eye Masters and Vision World.

Sir Eddie attended the National Young Leaders of America Conference in Washington D.C. while in high school which helps the next generation find a path to their dreams and give them the tools to achieve those dreams. He was very patriotic, loved eagles and the American Flag. He enjoyed learning about history, treasured a good book, and appreciated learning new things. Sir Eddie cherished his Lord and was baptized in the 90’s by Dr. Terry Bell at Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock, TX. Eddie found great comfort in his favorite scripture, Isaiah 40:31; “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” He always gave the greatest gifts, especially his endless and generous love. Sir Eddie’s house reflected the love of family and friends because they were the most important thing on this earth to him. He will be truly missed.

Sir Eddie is survived by his parents, Donnora “Nora” and Silas “Cas” Caswell; brother, Bobby Salas; sister, Candace Caswell-Thompson; brother-in-law, Eric Thompson; nephew, Jadon Thompson; niece, Mikyla Thompson; paternal grandparents, Lupe and Ramona Salas; maternal grandparents, Gary and Carol Bylander and Steve Hawkins; grandfather, LR Caswell; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie R. Salas; uncle, Joe Salas; grandmothers, Joy King Hawkins and Louise Caswell.

A private interment will be held for Sir Eddie’s family.

A Graveside Service for Sir Eddie will be held on Friday, November 17 at 2PM at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, WI.

Services are entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI. Flowers or Memorials are preferred. The family wants to express appreciation to Eddie’s providers, Robin, Wade, Cindy, and all who blessed him through the years.
