Edward ‘Eddie’ Klabuhn, age 89 of Prescott died Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation. Ed was born on September 6th, 1935 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Olga Klabuhn. He moved to Prescott in the 60’s with Jerry Ostrander with the help of Peter Hiniker. Ed worked at the Croixdale Hospital for 28 years in their maintenance department. When you talked to people who worked with Ed, they would say he was a hard worker and dependable. He never complained. Ed also did odd jobs and cleaning for Iona Hammon, Jerry Reichert, and Pete Hiniker. He was also very proud to be the janitor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prescott for thirty-seven years. He was all smiles when he received a plaque recognizing his years of service and dedication. It was obvious, he took great pride in his work.
Ed loved doing puzzles. Most interesting, he never looked at the actual picture when putting them together! He also loved to travel. His favorites were Washington DC, Yellowstone National Park, South Dakota, and Florida.
In 2004 he moved into the St. Croix Manor until March of 2021 when he made the Regina Assisted Living his home. Ed’s health declined and he needed to go to a nursing home. He insisted that he return to Prescott and came to the Prescott Nursing Home in October 2024. He enjoyed the staff and appreciated the great care he received there. Ed will be remembered by his many friends in the community and at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
