Edward Siewelo

Edward Siewelo age 94 of River Falls, and formerly of Prescott died Monday, November 15th at Wellhaven Senior Living in River Falls. Edward was born on July 7, 1927 in Thorp, Wisconsin; the son of John and Sophie (Warva) Siewelo. He attended elementary school in Lacrosse prior to graduating from the Prescott High School. On June 6, 1953, he married his best friend Arlene Armbruster at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church. Ed was a carpenter by trade. Early in his career, he worked for Manion Construction. Together, they built many of the homes on Lake Street in Prescott. Following this, he used his gifts as a carpenter and contractor as he founded Siewelo Construction. He constructed homes, did remodels, and helped on many projects around the community, especially St. Mary’s Big River.

Edward’s faith was the cornerstone of his life, which he made sure he instilled in his children. Edward was civic minded and enjoyed giving back to his community. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree, a member of the American Legion Post, the prestigious Forty and Eight Club, parish council for St. Mary’s Big River, and served as building inspector for Oak Grove Township.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife Arlene. He is survived by his children, Greg (Kathy) Siewelo of River Falls, Mary (Don) Acker of Bay City and Chrissy (James) Petersen of Prescott; grandchildren Kate (Jed) Watters, Kim (David) Olson, Calvin Acker, Jason (Kate) Acker and Amanda (Eric) Johnson; along with eleven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to the staff at WellHaven Senior Living and Adoray Home Health for taking care of Ed over the last nine months.

A private mass of Christian Burial with his family honoring his faith will be at St. Mary’s Big River in rural River Falls. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of River Falls.
