Elda “Janell” Enberg

Elda Janell (Miller) Enberg, 89 died Saturday November 16, 2024 at Elysian Memory Care, Lake City MN.

Born September 19, 1935, to Henry and Dorris (Carpenter) Miller. She attended Red Wing Schools and after was employed by the Red Wing Shoe Co. The Red Wing Shoe Co is where she met her husband Tom Enberg. After they wed they began farming and did so until they retired.

During time on the farm Janell was the custodian at Bethel Covenant Church, cleaned houses, sold bake goods at Farm To Market. Later in life she made quilts that she labeled “Grandma’s goof quilts” as there were always some imperfections. When the quilting became too much she then embroidered dish towels to give away.

Janell enjoyed having her grandchildren around and having people in their home for dinners, lunches and socializing. She was a member of Bethel Covenant Church and was involved with most groups and activities there.

She is survived by her four sons: Dan (Kathy) Enberg, Bay City, WI; Mark (Caleste) Enberg, Pepin, WI; Steve (Becky) Enberg, Maiden Rock, WI; and Paul Enberg of Ellsworth, WI. Eleven Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Janell was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, her brother Roy and sister’s Viola and Evelyn.

A Funeral Service for Janell will be at 2:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Bethel Covenant Church: W8405 County Rd KK, Ellsworth, WI 54011. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the church cemetery alongside her husband.
