Eldon L. Reinier

Eldon Louis Reinier, age 98 of Prescott, WI, died at his home on June 16, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family. Eldon was born January 7, 1923 in Ellsworth, WI to parents Ralph and Stella (Dumond) Reinier. Eldon attended high school in Ellsworth. In June of 1941, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served for 8 years. His service in WWII brought him to the seas of Asia, Africa, and Europe.  During his time in the Navy, Eldon crossed the equator on four occasions.

On November 16, 1944, Eldon was united in marriage to Cleo M. Roeder at Grange Hall. Though he returned to serve more years in the Navy, Eldon later returned home, where he and Cleo built the home they resided in for 71 years. It’s where they raised and nurtured their family, and enjoyed over 76 years of love and devotion to each other.

Eldon spent his career working as a machinist for Hudson Manufacturing. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trout fishing. Weekends were spent up north at the cabin, always fishing and cherishing time with his grandkids and family. Eldon also enjoyed collecting and polishing agates, and making creations from them. He was a gifted woodworker, and would lend a hand to anyone who needed something fixed or some solid help with a project. Eldon will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Eldon is survived by his wife of 76 years, Cleo; his children, Bonnie Fendrick, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Reinier; grandchildren, Mechele (Mark) Loosbrock, Todd (Patti) Fielder, and Chad Reinier; many great-grandchildren; sister, Lanore (Sonny) Dankers; brother, Maurice (Sue) Reinier; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eldon was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya; his granddaughter, Stacey; his parents; and four siblings: Rosie, Ardith, Bill, and Randy.

In accordance with his wishes, Eldon’s family held a private service, with military honors provided by Prescott American Legion Post 61. His final resting place will be the Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Services entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home of Ellsworth, WI. 715-262-5404
