Ellen Dunne

Ellen Mary Dunne, age 80 of Ellsworth, died Saturday February 23, 2013 at the Ellsworth Care Center following a long struggle with Alzheimers. Ellen was born February 16, 1933 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin; the daughter of Harry and Catherine (Seiler) Schmidt.  She was united in marriage to James L Dunne, to which daughters Maureen and Colleen were born. She worked many years as a registered nurse for Dr. Frederick Klaas in Ellsworth. Ellen enjoyed sewing, gardening, and playing bridge.

Ellen is survived by one sister, Evelyn Amdahl, one brother, James Schmidt, daughter; Maureen (Tom) Quinn, of Elburn, Illinois with their three sons, TJ, Brennan and Connor, Daughter Colleen (William) Dumond of Inver Grove Heights, MN with their three girls Katie, Abbey and Maggie. She is preceded by her husband James in 2010.

Mass of Christian Burial for Ellen will be 11:00AM Wednesday February 27 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 264 So. Grant Street in Ellsworth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.  Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes.
