Elsie Ruth Grundstrom of Hudson, WI passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on September 25, 1944, in Augusta, GA, to loving parents, Thomas and Clarice Pruett, where she spent her early years. Elsie grew up in Miami, FL, where she eventually met Richard (Dick) Grundstrom at a Miami Hurricane football game. After getting married, Elsie moved to Stillwater, MN, where she raised her two sons Dean and Kevin. Elsie loved children and was a In Home Daycare Provider for 25 years before retiring to Hayward, WI, where she enjoyed their church, good friends, and community. Eventually, she settled in Hudson, WI, so she could be closer to her beloved grandchildren.
Known for her warm and giving nature, Elsie was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She found joy in baking, and cooking delicious meals for her loved ones and relished in playing card and board games with family and friends. Her involvement with the First Baptist Church was a source of comfort and fulfillment for her, particularly in working with the daycare and Sunday school programs.
Elsie was a beloved mother to her sons, Dean (Mary) Grundstrom and Kevin (Jenney) Grundstrom. She adored her family and cherished being a grandmother to her grandchildren Madison, Cody, Wyatt (Gabriela), and great-granddaughter, Georgia. Family was paramount in Elsie’s life, and she loved spending time with those she held dear.
In celebration of Elsie’s life, Visitation will be held this Saturday, November 9th, 3pm at O’Connell Funeral Home – Hudson, followed by a Memorial Service at 4pm, where friends and family will come together to honor and remember a woman whose presence brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Elsie was preceded in death by her: husband Richard Grundstrom; parents Thomas & Clarice Pruett; sisters Christine & Adrian. She will be deeply missed but remembered with heartfelt gratitude for the light she brought into the world. May she rest in peace.
Elsie Ruth Grundstrom’s legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St.Jude
