Emily Elizabeth Ferguson, age 33 of Minneapolis, Minnesota and formerly of Hudson, Wisconsin died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 21st at her residence. Emily was born on November 24, 1986 in Minneapolis, the eldest daughter of Reid and Dawn (Krysiak) Ferguson. She was raised in Hudson where she graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 05’. Most recently, she worked as operations manager for Breathable Baby in the Twin Cities, a distributor of safe sleep products for infants.

Emily was full of life and lit up a room with her smile when she walked in. Her free-spirited attitude was beloved by her family and friends. She lived her life full speed but took time to enjoy the beauty around her. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends and spent countless hours with her nieces, and they adored her as Aunt Emmy. She loved to travel and enjoyed an annual trip to Mexico with her cousin Katie and other family members. She made every destination an adventure.  She enjoyed the outdoors and had developed quite an appreciation for learning more about plant life and loved to read.

Emily will live on in the hearts of her parents, Dawn (Larry Boumeester), and Reid (Lisa); sisters, Mollee (Kevin) Hendler, and Betsie (Maria) Ferguson; nieces and nephews, Scarlet, Holland, Aidan, and Charlie; step siblings, Tyler and Vanessa Boumeester, Chelsea Brock, and Breanna Olson; grandparents, Jim and Twyla Bavier, and Carol Ferguson; as well as many special aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Lee Ferguson; and cousin, Karina Bruns.

Funeral service for Emily will be 11AM Wednesday, October 28th at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Campus, 1205 6th Street, Hudson, WI. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 27th from 4pm until 7pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI, as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Willow River Cemetery. Masks and social distancing required.

Please note: if you just submitted a tribute, it is pending approval.
    • Dear Dawn, Ried, Mollee, and Betsie,
We remember you and your wonderful daughters well from your earlier years together. But now the number of saints above is increased by one, leaving behind an empty space that will never be filled except through the gift of memory. We celebrate with you your beloved daughter Emily’s life and the many lives she touched.

May you miss her deeply, forgive her often, and always claim the best of her in you. Our sympathies, thoughts, and prayers remain with you in your grief even as you reflect on the promises of God to provide a reunion in heaven.

Peace and healing love, Dan and Liz Bruch

    • Dawn, I am so very sorry for your loss. I am praying for peace beyond understanding to wash over your family at this time.

    • Dawn, Reid, Mollee, Betsy and all the family,
I am so sorry for your loss, all of you are amazing people and I wish I could be there to give each of you a hug.
Emily I loved talking to you. I loved growing up with you, I loved rocking out to music (she always had to put on Brittany) with you while spinning on the pottery wheel. I loved just enjoying life with you when our paths would collide through our 20s. I loved talking into our 30s about how life had changed and our futures. Your heart and your soul made everyone around you blossom out into the world with you.
Emily I loved you and always will love you, I will miss you deeply and wish I could hug you one more time and have a day of adventuring, ending with us watching “Elf” .
I will celebrate your life Emily by adventuring, dancing, singing and laughing this week.
      Love you,

    • My beautiful girl. I love you so.

If you only knew just how much you gave to me.

I’m so sorry for your family sweetheart.

      Your “Stevie Sedaris”
