Emily Garcia

Emily Marie Garcia, age 23, of Hudson, passed away suddenly July 27, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.  Emily was born December 16, 1992 in Edina, MN, the daughter of Ted and Melissa Garcia.  She graduated from Hudson High School, the Class of 2011.  After high school, Emily worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Comforts of Home in Hudson.  Emily was a beautiful young lady whose smile could light up the room.  She was caring in nature, extremely loving, and had a gracious heart for others. Emily had a passion for horses, and showed Saddlebreds, and she was extremely proud of the many blue ribbons she won.  She adored her dog, Sammy.  Emily developed a love for German cars and became very educated on the makes and models.  Dearest to Emily’s heart are her two nieces, Sky and Rae, to whom she loved unconditionally, and brought her joy. Emily’s struggles with depression are gone, and she is free of all that consumed her.  Emily’s tragedy is another’s joy in that she made a difference in four other peoples’ lives though organ donation.  May Emily’s sweet memory carry on in those lives, and the lives she touched here on earth.

Emily will remain in the hearts of her mother, Melissa; father, Ted Garcia; siblings: Katie Garcia, Joe Garcia, and Marissa Garcia; nieces, Sky and Rae; grandparents, Joseph and Virginia Burns and Maria Garcia; her best and very special friend, Josh Collin; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Theodore P. Garcia.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 3rd at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with Fr. John Gerritts officiating.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place one hour prior to Mass at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
