Engwald “Pete” Peterson

Engwald Victor “Pete” Peterson, age 82, of River Falls WI, passed away on Sunday morning, March 13, 2011 at the Kinnic Care Center. He was born the son of Ernest W. and Mildred O. (Nylander) Peterson on September 29, 1928 in St. Paul, MN.  He attended high school in So. St. Paul, and graduated in 1947. Pete worked in data processing for the US Postal Service, at the downtown St. Paul location, for 32 years. He retired in 1987, and greatly enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles.

Pete is survived by his wife of 29 years, Katharine “Kate” of Hudson WI; four children: Judy (Scott) Indehar of St. Paul MN, Jeanne Peterson of Bellingham WA, Robert Peterson of Oakdale MN and David Peterson of St. Paul MN; their mother, Ione Miller; five grandchildren: Robert Jr. (Kristine) Peterson of Hugo MN, John Peterson of No. St. Paul MN, Charles Peterson with the US Navy, Christine (Seth) Piskura of Hastings MN, and Jennifer Warner of St. Paul MN; three great-grandchildren, Sophia Indehar & Kaylee Warner and Max Peterson; extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Pete at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 18th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 502 Cty Rd UU, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the church. The O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory assisted the family, 715-386-3725.
