Ethel Ann Buechler

Ethel Ann Buechler, age 83 of Hudson, WI, formerly of Breckenridge and Ottertail, MN, passed away August 4, 2013 at Pine Ridge Care in Hudson, WI.  Ethel was born April 21, 1930 in Tintah, MN; the daughter of Arthur and June (Olson) Helsene.  She graduated High School from Breckenridge, MN, the class of 1948.  She was united in marriage on July 7, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckenridge to Theodore John Buechler III.  Their marriage was blessed with 3 sons,  David, Mark and Theodore IV.  Ethel worked as an administrative assistant in the juvenile court system in Wahpteon, ND, until her retirement.  

Ethel enjoyed golfing, reading and playing bridge.  She also treasured her time at the family cabin on Otter Tail Lake. Most important to Ethel were her three sons.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished her family and enjoyed taking care of them. 

Ethel will remain in the hearts of her sons, David (Teresa) Buechler of Brooklyn Park, MN, Mark (Carrie) Buechler of Hudson and Theodore  “John” IV (Lilian)  Buechler of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren:  Matthew, Brian, Gretchen, Chelsea, Nicole, Meaghan, Alex and Rylee.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and siblings:  Clifford Helsene, Wally Helsene, Joyce King and Vernon Helsene.  

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 520 S. 11th St.  Private family services will be held.  Ethel will be interred next to her husband, Ted 11:00 AM Friday, August 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dent, MN.  Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson (715) 386-3725.
