Ethel Jeanne Stockwell, age 92, of Ellsworth, WI died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Preferred Senior Living, Ellsworth, WI.
Ethel was born on July 9, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of George and Josephine (Lavia) Meyerson. She was a graduate of Aitkin High School, Aitkin, MN. Following graduation Ethel moved to Minneapolis where she was a clerical worker for an insurance company. Ethel married Russell Stockwell on November 26, 1969.
Ethel was an avid painter, entering many paintings in competition at the Pierce County Fair, giving most of them away as gifts. She was an active member of the Bible Center Church, Maiden Rock, playing the piano and organ for many weddings and funerals; she was also active with the Ellsworth Senior Center. Ethel and Russell spent many winters in Texas and she enjoyed traveling.
Ethel is survived by her five step-children: Larry (Sherry) Stockwell, Pat (Tom) Dietzler, JoAnn (Mike) Farrell, Sam (Lana) Stockwell, and Dan (Natalie) Stockwell.
Eight Step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister: Robert (Marlene) Meyerson, Alice (Maurice) Soberg, Leroy (Sandra) Meyerson, and David (Carolyn) Olson.
Three sisters’ in-law: Faith Belmore, Ruth Meyerson and Nona Stockwell.
Preceding her in death was her husband, parents, brothers Donald and Carl “Dick” Meyerson and sister Nancy Hauge.
Funeral services for Ethel will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Bible Center Church, Maiden Rock, WI. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.
