Ethel Lund

Ethel Elizabeth Lund, age 87, of New Richmond, formerly of Baldwin, passed away peacefully June 16, 2014, at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond. Ethel was born March 3, 1927, in the Township of Hammond, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Carlson) Lund. Ethel was a bright student and attended Three Willows Grade School and Baldwin High School. She spent most of her years living at St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond, where she had such a special bond with many of the caregivers and staff, especially Debbie, who cared so graciously for her. She spent a few years living in a group home in Baldwin before she moved back to St. Croix Health. Ethel loved singing hymns, watching movies and visiting with her family. She also took delight in Christmas parties, chocolate and dressing up with her jewelry. She cherished her relationship with her mother and missed her dearly. She enjoyed talking about the old days, farming and her beloved pet dog, Jack.

Ethel is survived by her brother, Roy (Judy) Lund of Stillwater; nieces and nephews: Dennis Stone, Jim (Teddy) Stone, Gary (Kathy) Stone, Cindy (Jim) Hodgson, Jeffrey (Lisa) Lund, Brenda (Jim) Ward and Roxanne Sacchetti.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Edward Lund; sisters, Yvonne Lund and Dorothy Stone.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1350 Florence St., Baldwin, with Pastor Michael Briggs officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will immediately follow the services at the Baldwin Cemetery. A special thanks to the caregivers and staff at St. Croix Health for their loving care of Ethel for so many years.  Memorials are preferred to the St. Croix Health Center.
