Eunice Marion Jensen, age 100, passed away October 27, 2016 at the Lutheran Home in River Falls.

Eunice was born in Stillwater, Minnesota, the only child of Scott and Stella Cofran. She lived most of her early years in Stillwater. Eunice graduated from Stillwater High School and in 1938 graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. Eunice married Kenneth Krey in 1949 and together they raised 9 children. They lived in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. When her youngest child was in school, she enrolled at the University of River Falls to get her teaching degree. The family then moved to Luck, Wisconsin and Eunice taught High School English in Siren and later transferred to Luck. She was her three youngest children’s English teacher.

Eunice loved to read and learn. She would further her education by perfecting her Spanish in Mexico during the summer months. Ken died in 1968. Eunice married Clifford Jensen in 1979. They did a lot of traveling. They both enjoyed their many winters spent down in La Feria, Texas with friends. Living by the lake in Luck gave them both much pleasure.

When Eunice turned 90, she and Cliff moved to River Falls to Wellhaven, an assisted living facility, to be near her daughter Kathy. When Clifford died three years later, she moved to the Lutheran Home for more care. She lived there for seven years till her passing. In January of this year, Eunice fell and broke her hip. That injury took its toll on her. She still had a party on her 100th birthday. People would say, can you believe you’re 100 years old? And she would answer, “that’s ridiculous!”

Eunice is preceded in death by her husbands Kenneth Krey and Clifford Jensen, and her son Peter. Eunice is survived by her 8 children: Judie (Harold) Honkola, Mike (Carol) Krey, Sally (Chuck) Fabbrini, Paul (Joyce) Krey, Bill (Geri) Krey, Jim (Carol) Krey, Kathy (Douglas) Cudd, and Patty (Jim) Lawson. Eunice is further survived by 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
